How to Increase Max Health in Black Myth: Wukong

While certainly not the most challenging game to fall under the Soulslike label, Black Myth: Wukong offers formidable opponents that will test your willpower and health bar. The latter is relatively small at the beginning of the game. A few hits, and you’re done. But you can increase your max health in Black Myth: Wukong. Here’s how!

How to Boost Maximum Health

There are two ways to increase your health in Black Myth: Wukong: skills and collectibles. First and foremost, let’s focus on the necessary skill to increase your health, and that’s Robust Constitution under the Survival skill tree to the right-hand side of the Foundation menu. Once you have enough XP to unlock a Spark, you can slowly increase the size of your health bar by investing points into this trait. Every point you place increases your Maximum Health by a moderate amount. It does add up relatively quickly.

Secondly, you can find collectibles in the world, specifically after beating some of the game’s most brutal boss fights, known as Celestial Jade Lotus Pills. Once discovered, these Celestial Medicines increase your Maximum Health by a significant amount.

They’re more rare than acquiring Sparks, of course, but the increase is drastic in comparison!

Lastly, once you reach Chapter 2 and speak to Xu Dog, who will help you craft Celestial Medicines, you can construct your own Jade Lotus Pill to increase your health pool.

As mentioned, upon reaching Chapter 2, you’ll unlock the ability to craft Celestial Medicines upon meeting Xu Dog. You can find him in the Crouching Tiger Temple Cellar, which requires the Sterness of Stone and Keeness of Tiger Keys to unlock.

You can acquire the Sterness of Stone Key by defeating Stone Vanguard in Fright Cliff. As for the Keeness of Tiger, you must beat Tiger Vanguard in the Crouching Tiger Temple. They’re both required boss fights necessary to progress the game.

Once you unlock the Cellar, head downstairs and speak with Xu Dog. He’ll help you craft Celestial Medicines using Mind Cores and Will. You can then increase your health pool!
