Despite your best efforts, you’ll wind up taking damage as Frank. You can’t avoid the onslaught of zombies pouring in from all sides, the prisoners roaming the lawn in their jeep, or the cultists with their grenades. It’s unavoidable. But you can heal in Dead Rising Deluxe Remaster, and we’ll teach you how!
How to Heal Frank in Dead Rising Deluxe Remaster
There are several ways to heal in Dead Rising Deluxe Remaster. The most common is consuming various food and drink items throughout the mall. They’re usually abundant, and you’ll find the odd snack behind a store counter, at the food court, or even on the construction site in the North Plaza. But not all food and drink is equal. Some only heal a single bar of health. Others, like Wine, heal multiple bars of health.
Alternatively, you will completely heal when leveling up. By acquiring more PP and maxing out your bar, you’ll achieve the next rank and, in doing so, heal and increase one random stat, such as your damage or carrying capacity.
You certainly shouldn’t rely on a level up to heal, though. It’s an excellent way to wind up in a bind as you attempt to slay enough zombies or take pictures to level up for the health benefits.

Where to Find Food in Dead Rising Deluxe Remaster
For your first playthrough, as you learn the mall’s layout, you’ll most likely stumble upon food and drink items randomly. But as you play more, you’ll start to understand where the various shops are, and then you can stop by on the way to an objective to grab a health item before a big fight. Here are a few key locations where you can find food and drinks in Dead Rising Deluxe Remaster:
- Seon’s Food and Stuff (North Plaza)
- Jill’s Sandwiches (Paradise Plaza)
- Colby’s Movieland (Paradise Plaza)
- Central Tacos (Food Court)
- Frozen Dreams (Food Court)
- Colombian Roastmasters (Al Fresca Plaza)
- Chris’ Fine Foods (Food Court)
Seon’s supermarket will be the best source of any food and drink items in the game, but it’s somewhat out of the way in the under-construction North Plaza. Once you unlock the Maintenance Tunnel, it’s slightly easier to make a trip there and back.
