Black Ops 6 isn’t a conventional Call of Duty game as it features a greater sense of depth. This is evident in the thrilling Campaign where you’re challenged to complete a series of fiendish puzzles around Adler’s Safehouse until you conquer the final one—getting the Safe Code and completing all Safehouse Puzzles.
After completing Black Ops 6’s opening mission—Bishop Takes Rook—the team ends up at Russell Adler’s private KGB Safehouse. This is your HQ moving forward, but it’s also a Resident Evil-inspired mansion teeming with puzzles. Some are fairly self-explanatory, whereas others have you questioning if this is a first-person shooter at all.
I encourage you to read on for every puzzle solution, the logic behind them, and how to get the Safe Code in Black Ops 6.
How to Open the Safe in Black Ops 6
You must solve a series of puzzles scattered around Adler’s safehouse to open the safe in Black Ops 6. Each puzzle requires you to use a different part of your brain from basic deduction to memory. If you’re struggling with any of the answers, fear not, I’ve worked out every solution and method.
Piano Puzzle Safehouse Solution in Black Ops 6
You need to press the MN, PE, CN, AP, and PE keys on the Piano, in order, to open the secret basement door.
After finding the blacklight, you need to equip it and shine the light around the Piano room to reveal various combinations of letters. Fortunately, this first puzzle is made easier as the numbers have letters next to them, indicating the correct sequence—the main trouble is finding the letters.
Press the correct keys, as I’ve stated above, and you open the secret door.
Boiler Puzzle Safehouse Solution in Black Ops 6
Fill the Boiler with Fuel, ignite it, and then trigger the Water to get the power back up and running in the Safehouse.
Another downstairs area (immediately available to you) contains a Boiler setup, and we need to complete this puzzle to restore power, opening up the electronic lock to the Piano Puzzle’s downstairs door. A set of instructions on the table states what you need to do here, but if you’re having trouble following them, check out these simple steps:
- Go to the Boiler valve in the middle.
- Adjust it until the gauge is set to 0.
- Head to the Fuel valve on the left.
- Set this to 50—halfway on the dial.
- Now, go to the Pilot valve on the right-hand side, and press the button once.
- Finally, return to the Boiler valve in the middle and turn it to 100.
- Power is now restored, and the Piano room’s secret door down the stairs is unlocked.
Keypad Decryption Puzzle Safehouse Solution in Black Ops 6
Use the blacklight to detect which number keys have been pressed previously, and use logic to ascertain the correct positions of the numbers.
This puzzle is based on the classic board game Mastermind—or if you’re not old enough to remember it, you might recognize this puzzle’s formula from the addictive daily game Wordle. Using the numbers with fingerprints on, we need to find the five-digit code by typing in the numbers on the first line and using the existing data to work out where the numbers go.
Here’s a simple chart to understand the color system:
- Green: The inputted number is correct, and for any subsequent guesses, you need to put this number in the same place.
- Yellow: The inputted number is correct but in the wrong place. Try it in a different order on your next guess.
- Red: The inputted number is wrong and isn’t in the code. Don’t use the number again or risk wasting guesses.
I believe the puzzle is randomly generated, meaning the solution changes each time. Use the logic above, and you should eventually crack the code. Furthermore, I found at least one of my keys had a much thicker fingerprint presence, indicating it’s been used more frequently, and the number featured twice in my solution.
Decode Cipher Puzzle Safehouse Solution in Black Ops 6
I got the words “BUNKER,” “OPEN,” “ROOM,” and “HOLDING” to complete the Decode Cipher puzzle.
Using the cipher, take the numbers in the “Code Word” and match them up with their conjoining letter in the “Characters” and “Code” table at the bottom of the screen. It’s not complicated, it’s just matching up the right numbers and letters, and I think the solution is always the four words above.
Lockpicking Puzzle Safehouse Solution in Black Ops 6
Use your controller to move the lockpick from left to right, and at a certain point, the lock begins to shake (indicating you’re in the right area), gently push the stick toward the correct direction, and with enough care and precision, the lock should open.
If you’ve ever played an Elder Scrolls game, this should be a cakewalk. Repeat this method for all three locks, and you should be able to crack the whole lock and open the door to grab the key from the table.
Radio Signal Puzzle Safehouse Solution in Black Ops 6
Adjust the “Amplitude” until it gets to the sixth black line of the seven, and then tweak the “Frequency” toggle so it also hits the sixth marker of seven. Doing so turns the radio on and begins to play a message.
You need to adjust both the “Amplitude” and “Frequency” of the radio wave until the white line perfectly synchronizes with the green line in the background. This is another puzzle seemingly uniform across the board, so adjust the dials as stated, and we can move on to the final puzzle.
Radio Puzzle Safehouse Solution in Black Ops 6
You need to listen to the repeating radio broadcast—telling you which four numbers you need to take note of (and in which order)—to get a four-digit code for the safe.
In my playthrough, I had the following clues endlessly communicated to me: “He slumped on the couch,” his wife’s purse still missing,” “he noticed the calendar with his brother’s birthday,” and “just under the memorial flag.” I found all four spots, noted down the numbers, and took them to the safe upstairs.
I inputted the code, and the safe opened; giving me $1000, along with a Case Cracker Blueprint Campaign reward, and one of the Black Ops 6 trophies!
