How to Get Ray Gun in Black Ops 6 Zombies

Described by Treyarch as “The all-time classic Wonder Weapon,” the Ray Gun is the most straight-to-the-point special weapon in Black Ops 6 Zombies. The sophisticated, other-worldly piece of tech hits stupidly hard, and we’re going to show you the best ways to get a Ray Gun in Zombies.

Zombies is back in classic style in Call of Duty: Black Ops 6. Forget Vanguard’s barebones Zombies offering or Modern Warfare 3’s extraction stylings, Liberty Falls and Terminus bring back old-school, round-based Zombies. As usual, there are a ton of secrets to uncover, and Wonder Weapons to track down.

I don’t care what anyone says, the biggest player in the game is the Ray Gun—a staple of CoD Zombies since World at War’s Nacht der Untoten, and there are certain ways to obtain one in Black Ops 6.

There are currently three known methods to obtain a Ray Gun in Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 Zombies: Get lucky with the Mystery Box, use Loot Keys to open Armory lockers and hope there’s a Ray Gun inside, and use Legendary Gobblegums to reroll the Mystery Box and guarantee Wonder Weapons.

Right now, there is no guaranteed way to get a Ray Gun, sadly. The weapon is obscenely powerful—and that’s before you even think about the Pack-A-Punch machine—so Treyarch is obviously keeping it as safeguarded as possible for now. A yet-to-be-discovered Easter Egg might solidify the chances of getting one though, as could a future content update.

For now, let’s check out the current methods of getting a Ray Gun.

Mystery Box

Like the Ray Gun, the Mystery Box is an OG Zombies feature still as popular as ever. At the start of each game, a random Box with a big question mark and an enchanting light emanating from it is somewhere on the map. Unlock new areas and track down this blue-bunny guarded box and give yourself a chance to roll a Ray Gun at the cost of 950 Points.

Typically, each box location gives you a handful of rolls before it’s whisked away to one of several pre-determined box locations. Like every method on this list, luck is involved. You could literally get a Ray Gun with your first roll of the match, or you could blow 95,000 Points and still not get one. Pray the RNG Zombies Gods are on your mortal side.

Loot Keys

Killing Elite-level enemies—mainly Manglers—has a chance of dropping a Loot Key. You need to take this Loot Key to the Armory in Terminus or the Vault in Liberty Falls and open up Armory Lockers or Safety Deposit Boxes. The loot inside either map’s treasure troves is (once again) completely random.

You could find Salvage to build helpful items and upgrades, or you could luck out entirely and find an unused Ray Gun residing inside, just waiting to blow Zombies to smithereens.

Gobblegums

The last method is probably the least effective of the three, but hey, if it gives us even the slightest chance of getting a Ray Gun, it’s fine by us! Gobblegums are a new addition to CoD Zombies and they are special modifiers found in Gobblegum machines around the different maps.

I’ve identified three different Gobblegums that could spell R-A-Y G-U-N if fate is on your side: Immolation Liquidation, Respin Cycle, Wonderbar!

Immolation Liquidation grants an immediate Fire Sale, making the Mystery Box almost free to use, Respin Cycle respins a recent Mystery Box spin and has the chance to upgrade its rarity. Meaning, if the roll was a Legendary weapon, it could turn into a Wonder Weapon on the Respin Cycle roll, whereas Wonderbar! guarantees you a Wonder Weapon on your next Mystery Box spin.
