Frostpunk 2 features a variety of resources and currencies necessary to expand your settlement and even research additional technologies that make survival possible. Some of these resources, however, prove rather befuddling. For instance, how do you get Heatstamps in Frostpunk 2? We’re happy to show you how!
Where to Get Heatstamps in Frostpunk 2
Heatstamps are your primary form of currency in Frostpunk 2, and you’ll acquire them weekly as your settlement grows. The more citizens you have contributing to the well-being of the colony, the more Heatstamps you’ll acquire weekly. As such, when you find survivors in the Frostland, weigh the pros and cons of inviting them to your colony carefully. While they require housing and food, they contribute Heatstamps, which you may spend on research projects. It’s all about balance.
Alternatively, instead of waiting around for Heatstamps to collect passively each week, you can speak with the heads of each faction at the bottom of your HUD and request a donation of the currency. If the faction supports you enough, they’ll happily give you some stamps, but it’s usually in exchange for a favor or your support in a prospective law.
Furthermore, certain Laws, Buildings, and Research Projects increase the number of Heatstamps you earn passively, so keep an eye out for those!

Why You Need Heatstamps
There are a few mechanics in the game that require Heatstamps. The primary reason you want to accumulate as many as possible is for the Idea Tree—the game’s version of a technology tree. Every research project on the Idea Tree requires a specific amount of Heatstamps—usually 100—to start.
Secondly, you can use Heatstamps to bribe the game’s various factions and communities by interacting with the leader at the bottom center of your HUD. Click the leader you wish to converse with, and then you can “Fund Projects” using the currency to win them over to your side.
