There are a lot of plates to juggle in Kingdom Come Deliverance 2. You need to heal to ensure you don’t run out of health, and make sure you’re not selling stolen items to the wrong people. You need a bite now and again while doing this, but an ill-judged snack or meal can turn Henry into a fine feast for worms.

I’ve found the best way to cure food poisoning in Kingdom Come Deliverance 2 is to consume a Digestive Potion or have a long sleep until the illness leaves you.

There could be more, but these are the main solutions I’ve found in Kingdom Come Deliverance 2 so far. Let’s take you through each one and see which you prefer.

Drink a Digestive Potion

A Digestive Potion has the following effects in Kingdom Come Deliverance 2: “Reduces the feeling of fullness after food and cures food poisoning. If good quality, cures all poisoning, as well as boosting your vitality.”

Solid consumption of one of these bad boys should quell any internal, painful tummy rumblings.

Sleep The Pain Away

If you can get yourself to a bed, you might be able to sleep the food poisoning away. It depends on how severe the poisoning is, and how much health you have. The best way to find out is to fast travel to somewhere where you can sleep post-haste.

How To Make a Digestive Potion in Kingdom Come Deliverance 2

A Digestive Potion features Water, Nettle, Thistle, and Charcoal. Combine these ingredients accurately in a bout of Alchemy, and you can whip up a batch in no time.

Here’s how to make a Digestive Potion if you don’t know:

  1. Use Water as the base.
  2. Add Thistle to the Cauldron.
  3. Lower the Cauldron and boil it for two full turns of the hourglass.
  4. Wait for it to complete, raise the Cauldron, and grind Nettle.
  5. Throw the ground-up Nettle into the Cauldron.
  6. Lower the Cauldron and boil for one turn.
  7. Once it’s done, lift the Cauldron, grind Charcoal, and throw it into the pot.
  8. It’s now time to pour your new creation!

Rinse and repeat as many times as you think you’re going to ingest rotten goods.

What Does Food Poisoning Do in Kingdom Come Deliverance 2?

Food Poisoning can kill Henry if it’s severe enough and will deplete your character’s health at the very least.

As someone who’s had food poisoning a handful of times in my life, I can tell you it’s not great. Lots of going to the toilet, some vomiting, and it’s generally unpleasant. But it would take a major case of food poisoning to be fatal. Kingdom Come Deliverance 2 does not care—it is the 15th century after all.

If you get food poisoning, it can kill you in KC2—especially if it’s bad enough and untreated—and if you haven’t saved for a while, it spells disaster.

How to Tell if Food is Bad And Stop Getting Food Poisoning in Kingdom Come Deliverance 2?

Check your Inventory, go to the Food section, find any Food you have, and check the column with the broken heart icon above it. If the number shown is red, it means the food is no longer good, and you will get food poisoning.

This is what I’ve found during my time with Kingdom Come Deliverance 2. If the number is in the red, you may be dead, if you eat it. Always bear this in mind if Henry is hungry—each meal could be his last meal!
