The Graven Image is part of a new Halloween-themed questline added to Escape from Tarkov as a limited-time event. It’s the middle quest of a line of three, and it requires you to take down some pretty vicious enemies to succeed. In this guide, we’re going to outline how to complete The Graven Image quickly and relatively painlessly.
Tricks To Complete The Graven Image
The Graven Image is a tough mission – you need to take out three new boss characters that spawn in an area at night where other bosses can spawn. In the worst-case scenario, you’ll need to fight these three bosses, and Cultists, and Reshala, and The Goons.
Can you imagine that nightmare? Imagine the sheer XP from that raid if you were to be successful.
To complete The Graven Image, you’ll need to head to Customs at night and run over to the industrial region that incorporates Crackhouse, Stronghold, and the back of Old Gas. The three boss characters patrol this area, but they tend to spawn in the bus depot alongside Crack and next to the container behind Old Gas.
The three bosses are Oni, Harbinger, and Ghost, and they’re pretty tooled up.
Oni is modelled on a Cultist and opts for fast-moving, agile weaponry, while Harbinger totes an LMG and some seriously thick armour. They’re joined by Ghost, a fairly standard-looking operator with a crack-shot AR.
The most important tip we can offer is to keep your distance. If you’re going to peek at these enemies, do so from cover – one of the best spots is up in the windows of the warehouse overlooking the back of Old Gas. It’s where the ZB-13 switch is. From there, you can gently peek and scan the area, catching one of their spawns from a nice angle.
Otherwise, consider going up into ‘Skeleton’, the building near Construction that overlooks Stronghold. As a last resort, you could consider hunkering behind a window (admittedly not the best option) in Crackhouse.
The rewards for The Graven Image go pretty wild, though:

- 1 ECHO1 Thermal Scope
- 1 Abandoned Factory Marked Key
- 1 Mysterious Room Marked Key
