While the overall size of video games is growing annually, with some titles requiring well over 100 GBs of space on an SSD to play successfully, you don’t have to worry so much about this year’s Call of Duty. We know there were rumors about the first-person shooter reaching past the 300 gig mark, but that’s not the case. So, how many gigs is Black Ops 6?

Just to reiterate, you do not require over 300 GBs of space to download and play Call of Duty: Black Ops 6. The report of such a massive file size stems from an Xbox store page, which originally listed the staggering 309 GB as the required amount of storage space. But Activision cleared everything up on X, stating that’s not exactly the correct amount. Instead, the 309 GB included Modern Warfare 2, Modern Warfare 3, Warzone, and their associated content packs.
There’s no official word on Black Ops 6’s file size. The team intends to reveal more about storage space as we approach launch, which isn’t too far off. We expect to hear more in the next month or two!

Does Black Ops 6 Require an SSD?
As for your storage device, it is highly recommended that you use an SSD to download and play Call of Duty: Black Ops 6. It’s becoming far more commonplace for developers to require an SSD, which improves load times and increases performance. Trust us when we say that it does make a difference. You’ll be at a distinct disadvantage with a significantly slower HDD compared to an opponent with an SSD. Plus, they’ve come down in price rather drastically since their inception, so an SSD is far more cost-effective these days!
