How Long Does Fallout 76 Server Maintenance Last? – Answered

I’ve been in your shoes. As recently as earlier today, in fact. You finish up with all of your work for the day and boot up your favorite game, only to receive a message about server maintenance. Your dreams dashed, you quit out and find something else to do. But how long does server maintenance in Fallout 76 last?

How Long Is Fallout 76 Down For Usually?

Typically speaking, when Fallout 76 goes down for server maintenance, the entire game goes offline for approximately three to five hours. Sometimes, it takes significantly less time, such as an hour or two. More often than not, it can take up to six hours for the game to return to its live state.

For the most part, Bethesda performs its server maintenance relatively early in the day. They try to minimize disruptions, but time zones don’t care about good intentions. People elsewhere, such as in Europe, want to play the game, too. Unfortunately, that downtime usually coincides with their off-hours in the evening. Still, it’s not the longest server maintenance of all time.

What To Do While You Wait for Fallout 76

While you’re waiting for the Fallout 76 servers to return, I could give the usual advice and tell you to go play a different game. After all, you likely have a massive library on Steam and a backlog calling your name. But where’s the fun in that?

Instead, I recommend you research a few build guides for Fallout 76. There are a number of growing meta builds to help you devour end-game content and come out on top in each event.

Personally, I’m trying to incorporate Holy Fire more frequently, along with the new unique Ticket to Revenge that I scored in Skyline Valley.
