It was just yesterday that a collaboration between Activision’s Call of Duty and The Boys was revealed, with new Operators (based on characters from the show) making their way into the game as part of a special event. Now, it seems that one character, in particular, is destined to surface in another game.
It’s worth taking this with a pinch of salt until it’s verified, given the source. But on TikTok, a comment was posted by ‘Vought International Studios’ on a clip posted by the channel saying, quite simply, ‘MK confirmed’.
Collaboration Time
It’s not like we’ve never seen crossovers in the world of Mortal Kombat, but this would be a sizeable one, given the success of The Boys and the profile of Homelander as a character. He’d certainly make for a formidable fighter, that’s for sure.
On TikTok, a clip was uploaded showcasing the arrival of Black Noir – amongst others – in Call of Duty. Beneath that clip, one user commented: ‘COD AND POSSIBLY MK???? WWWWW’
By way of a response, the channel responded ‘MK confirmed’, and then later, ‘Homelander will be available at some point. That’s all we can say.’
However, it’s worth bearing a few things here:
- It’s an unverified channel, but that could be to do with the fact that it’s representing a fictional organisation. Similarly, the Twitter account for Vought – which has 388,000 followers – is also unverified.
- On the channel, there are no links out to Amazon Prime Video or anything else that you’d expect, but instead, there’s a link to a private Instagram profile attributed to a user who claims to be ‘Vought Studios Social Media Team Leader’. Who, for a social media expert, has posted five images ever.
So, while we can expect crossovers in Mortal Kombat 1, is Homelander definitely going to be one of them?
