Halo World Championship 2024: Prize Pool, Schedule, Format, And More

The Halo World Championship 2024, the annual Halo esports event that players have been waiting for, finally returns between October 4 and 6. This year’s tournament will be held at the Seattle Convention Center in Washington. In a new blog post, the organisers have revealed the prize pool, schedule, format, and other tournament details. 


Halo World Championship 2024 Format

The upcoming Halo esports tournament will first feature 16-team Pool Play, followed by a 12-team Champ Bracket. Four pools of four teams will be created, where every participant will play a single round-robin.

The first and second places in the Pools will enter Winners Round 1, and the third place will enter Lower Round 1. Participants who place fourth in the pools will be eliminated. Qualified players will then participate in a 12-team Double-Elim Championship Bracket, competing for the most significant chunk of the prize pool. 

HCS World Championship 2024 Prize Pool Breakdown

The Halo World Championship 2024 prize pool is $1 million and will be divided among the top 16 spots. The distribution of the prize money according to final placement is shown below. 

  • 1st: $400,000
  • 2nd: $220,000
  • 3rd: $110,000
  • 4th: $70,000
  • 5-6: $45,000
  • 7-8: $25,000
  • 9-12: $10,000
  • 13-16: $5,000

How to Qualify for Halo World Championship 2024? 

Players who wish to qualify for the Halo World Championship 2024 have three options. The first is to place in the top 8 at the Salt Lake City major. The second is to be in the top 4 in Halo Championship Series points after the SLC Major. The third and final option is to place in the top 4 teams at the Last Chance Qualifiers. 

Halo $25,000 FFA Tournament and Side Events

Moreover, the final HCS FFA tournament of the year will be hosted at Halo World Championship 2024. Interested players can register on-site and try at the $25,000 prize pool, distributed according to placement among the top 8 spots. Additionally, there will be other side events at the venue featuring various Halo titles and a prize pool of $5,000. Here is a prize money distribution list for the FFA tournament:

  • 1st: $10,000
  • 2nd: $6,000
  • 3rd: $4,000
  • 4th: $2,125
  • 5th: $1,000
  • 6th: $750
  • 7th: $625
  • 8th: $500 

How to Watch Halo World Championship 2024

There are two ways to witness the esports madness at the Halo World Championship 2024. The first is to purchase a ticket and experience it in person; the other is to watch a live stream.

Two types of tickets are available for purchase: GA and VIP.

GA tickets cost $75 and grant players access to the venue on all days, eligibility to compete in the FFA tournament, and an HCS Poster and event in-game rewards card to unlock. Interested players can purchase tickets for Halo WC 2024 from this website.

The Halo World Championship 2024 VIP ticket costs $250, and many extra goodies come with a higher price point.

VIP ticket holders will receive an exclusive swag bag, a chance to win a Studio tour of 343 industries, early entry and a dedicated line to enter the venue, access to the VIP lounge, VIP credential, exclusive production tour and backstage access, early access to FFA tournament check-in, chance to win exclusive giveaways, 10% off on HCS apparel and merchandise, and event in-game rewards.
