It has been announced by 343 Industries that Halo Infinite is getting a third-person mode in November. Dubbed a ‘new way to play’, the third-person mode in Halo Infinite has been branded nothing more than ‘Fortnite-ification’ by some users, and at first glimpse, the gameplay shown from that perspective certainly is reminiscent of the popular battle royale.
It’s not a groundbreaking update, but it’s something that should bring people back to Halo Infinite, even if they’ll only hang around for a game or two to test out the new third-person perspective.
Halo Infinite Isn’t Forever
Halo Infinite has struggled with maintaining an active player base more or less since it was released in December 2021. It has ebbed and flowed, but over time, the player count has dropped at a steady pace. Once upon a time, it was because updates weren’t coming fast enough, and now it tends to be that updates applied to the game just aren’t meaningful enough.
As the Halo World Championship unravels in Seattle, 343 Industries has revealed the next evolution of Halo Infinite with a fresh third-person mode.
It was unveiled on social media along with a work-in-progress gameplay clip:
It doesn’t look terrible, but I’m bad enough at Halo Infinite when I play from a first-person perspective, so third-person might just bamboozle me more than ever. Unfortunately, the community is mostly against this update, with many suggesting it’s a waste of time and resources at 343 Industries to be pushing content like this instead of anything a bit meatier.

Microsoft just bring back games like Mech Assault, Brute Force, Jet Force Gemini, and hire John Tobias to make a new Tao Feng. Bring back Unreal Tournament bring back Crimson Skies make it a mix of aerial on at and third person action adventure maybe open world like a diesel punk GTA. Bring back Kakuto Chojin, Conker, Kame, Viva Piñata, Banjo, Blinx, Phantom Dust, Cry On, Magatama, hire Itagaki to make a new Dead Or Alive or pay Koei Tecmo to bring him back for the series since Tekken sucks, pay From Software to remake Otogi and make Otogi 3 and Ninja Blade 2. This company just wastes money on nothing. You own Activision have Vicarious come back remake Tony Hawk Underground and the remaining Pro Skater games, Tenchu, Spyro, Prototype, True Crime, get the DC licenses give them to Treyarch, Infinity Ward, High Moon, Beenox, and Radical or get the Image licenses like The Darkness and Spawn, remake The Simpsons Hit & Run. Hire Big Red Button to take on making a Crash and Spyro games or bring Krome to takeSpyro. Remake Oni if you own that. Have Ninja Theory finally make a new Kung Fu Choas with a better art style. Open World Grim Fandango from Double Fine and give them Voodoo Vince to cook with.
Microsoft just buy EA and Take 2. Put GTA and the 2K games on Game Pass and give DICE and Respawn the Halo and Gears IP.
Microsoft here’s how you make money hire Octopus Panic to make a Def Jam FFNY spiritual successor with online, hire SuperNatural studios the former SSX guts to make a spiritual successor to SSX with online and open world, hire Red Barrels to make Splinter Cell and Prince Of Persia spiritual successors, hire Cliff Bleszinski to finally make his dragon game and save Gears Of War, hire Big Red Button Entertainment the good Naughty Dog devs to make successor to Jak, Uncharted, and their new ideas, hire Dan Housers new studio to make games, and hire John Tobias to take on Tao Feng since Mortal Kombat sucks. Pay Eidos Montreal to make a game based on Tony Valente’s Radiant and Ankama’s Wakfu directed by Daniel Bisson.
What’s the deal with Hundred Star, Brass Lion, and 1666 where are those games?
Just end Halo 3 is the canonical end this franchise and Gears were zombified. Fire Phil and the other idiots soon! Microsoft just throw money at Strauss and buyout Take Two make 2K and Rockstar your flagship series studios. Give your endorsement to Trump since the Biden admin screwed you over giving you headache on the Activision deal and pull out the EU if needed. If Tencent can buy Ubisoft then Microsoft buying Take Two should be no issue. GTA, RDR, BioShock, Mafia, and all 2K games day 1 is how Game Pass peaks.
Microsoft bring back Brute Force, Mech Assault, and Unreal Tournament but the last one off Epic they don’t care.
No one wants this how about making something people want that would sell good like getting the Team Bondi members together to make Whore Of The Orient a LA Noire meets Sleeping Dogs beat em up game that would be huge.
