In a new blog post today, PlayStation announced that the anticipated Genshin Impact version 4.6 update “Two Worlds Aflame, the Crimson Night Fades”, will release on April 24th.
This will be a massive update, introducing a brand-new area to discover, as well as the central new character Arlecchino. Surprisingly, ‘The Knave’ Arlecchino will serve as “both a recruitable team member and a formidable Weekly Boss.”
Today’s blog reveals that Arlecchino’s special mechanic is Bond of Life. This “stays on its target and prevents healing,” until the victim meets the right conditions.
The new area will be the Sea of Bygone Eras and Remuria, a lost deep-water kingdom. Its King, Remus, composed a Symphony that players can use to reactivate ancient devices. Fortunately, the developers also released a cinematic trailer breaking down some backstory.
On a smaller note, Two Worlds Aflame, the Crimson Night Fades will also add a music tour to Genshin Impact, “organized by Arataki Itto and Dvorak.”
Players can earn a new Nightwind Horn instrument by “playing different instruments at wills, collecting items, and restoring the melodies.”
The release date arrived fairly close to launch, but maybe the devs needed a little more time to be sure about something concrete. After all, it is an unusually large update, between Arlecchino and Remuria.
Some fans might be disappointed with Remuria’s familiar underwater theme, but it’s clear the devs put a lot of thought into the lore. Also, introducing Arlecchino in a dual role is definitely a fresh twist for the game.
Version 4.6 proves that Genshin Impact has plenty of room to expand indefinitely, and retain longtime players with creative additions.
