Sony has announced that it will be holding a free PlayStation Plus online multiplayer weekend ever. The event will give players on PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 the chance to play their games online multiplayer modes completely free of charge on February 18 and 19.
The event is part of the company’s PlayStation Plus Festival that runs from February 15-24.
“PlayStation Plus members can find a range of activities to participate in during PlayStation Plus Festival of Play – from earning digital collectibles, to joining tournaments, to getting exclusive double discounts on select popular games from PlayStation Store,” Sony says. “Activities for those who are not PlayStation Plus members are available as well.”
The news of the free weekend comes just as season 2 of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 begins for players. There’s also a free technical test for MLB The Show 23 ahead of its March 28 release.
For those looking to score new games, PlayStation Plus members will receive double discounts on titles such as Gotham Knights, The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, FIFA 23, and more.
Lastly, tournaments will be taking place during the free PlayStation Plus multiplayer weekend. Players in games like FIFA 23 and NBA 2K23 will have the chance to win PlayStation Plus memberships by taking part. They are open to any player who owns the eligible games.
