It's a huge franchise and other than 7 remake and 16 i haven't played anything? Where should I start? Also, where can I play them?
I started with the Pixel Remasters, and had a blast doing 100% achievement runs. I'm still midway through 6 though. Those remasters are not for everyone because of the pixel art, and the old school designs overall, so if you are not into that you can skip it.
Thank you for the comprehensive answer!Good question & thread
Having played only from original PS1 FF7 till FFXV tho, I'd recommend playing them in chronological order.
FF7, 8, 9, 10 & 12 are on PSN, plus nearly every month or so discounted.
If you want as well there's " Pixel Remaster" that encompasses FF1-6. These are the 2D entries. I haven't played these except FF6 (thru FF Anthology with Chrono Trigger) but only a little so my opinion of it has no value lol
There's also spinoff games like FF Type-0 (action based school game think Harry Potter) & World of FF (think Pokémon). And obviously there's Kingdom Hearts which is actually FF game with Disney stuff
My advice since you've already started with FF7 remake, don't play the original FF7 until after the whole trilogy remake (I haven't played neither games since I don't have PS5 ).
Begin with FF8.
Go in blind & search only for guides if you're stuck or need something specific / completionist purposes.
Thank you Rhae!

Some people will sell their PS5s to upgrade. Maybe you can get one cheaper and try the remakes. I enjoyed part I, but part II (Rebirth) was on another level. Square Enix lost some money by making it exclusive, but I think Sony sold quite a few PlayStations with it.
Thankfully, I played it on SteamDude I wanna play those too but the disc copies ran out fast right lol
On PSN afaik they don't sell it in bundle so eh...
But yeah for sure one day when I could I definitely would.
Thankfully, I played it on Steam
You can speed up battles, and even press an auto battle mode which will replay the previously used moves, but you can't disable random battles, you can't increase gil gain either. You don't have many options to customize your runs if I remember correctly.Oh yeah got it bro.
By the way, do the games have quality of life stuff like fast forward, no random battles, additional gil, etc. similar to FF7-9 remasters?
Thank you Dood

No visual settings I'm afraid. Even the old school fonts had to be modden it as the modern fonts looked off. Thankfully changing it is super easy on PC.Oh right... Guess they're keeping it as old school as can be lol
Good to know thanks Dood!
P.S. Do they also have visual settings bro like HD to classic pixel or something? I think one of the remasters like Chrono Cross has that setting if I'm not mistaken.

Weirdly enough, I really liked the first one as it was rather simple to follow the story, and from what I have played from 6 was actually good. The second game is the weakest by far, and I honestly can't remember the story at all, while 3, 4 and 5 is okay.Oh I see. Noted Dood!
Really wanna play 1-6 especially 6 because that's the one that many FF fans rank among the best ever, 2D or otherwise. I remember the opening scenes where there's 2-3 guys in some mech armor in the snow & that's just my kinda vibe.
By the way which of one of these are your faves thru 1-6?
Thank you bro.
