The future of GTA Online

Rockstar seem to have an issue on their hands when it comes to Online player counts, because many players still haven't migrated onto current gen consoles. I would expect Rockstar wants to ensure some continuity between V's Online and VI's Online because it's been so successful for them, but that might be tough until more players make the jump to current-gen.

What do you prefer? Would you want progress to carry over? Do you hope to see some of the same characters/faces in VI's Online? Or do you think the two cities will just combine into one super-large GTA Online?
 
Progression should not carry over and it will not, clean slate, even playing field new place and nothing old. The only thing I could see them carry over is rare clothing and liveries for returning vehicles. Anything else that isn't cosmetic would ruin the experience.

I personally think GTA V’s online sucks there’s to much going on and to many stupid things, I absolutely loved GTA IV online it was nice and simple and no micro transactions 🙂

I agree but real talk, it's a cash cow - I expect there to be some effort of continuity on R*'s part

No micro transactions <3 Although I'm afraid that R* was definitively buried when they rolled out GTA+
