Queries (November 2024)

I'm going to use this thread to gather queries about the upcoming Battlefield instalment. This thread is in response to the Battlefield 6 Playtests article presented by Mr. Henderson.
  1. What is new in the game compared to previous games?
  2. When did development start on the game?
  3. How are the development efforts distributed across the four development studios?

I don't want to comment on exact specific stuff, but I think what has already been talked about is the back to its root approach and they are focused on much smaller maps (while still painting that Battlefield flavour). There's a new 3D killcam in the game if you want something specific. It has a heat trail showing the direction of where the enemy runs.

Development started soon after 2042's release and the whole reshape of the franchise.

Development across all the studios is segregated in terms of the experiences that the studios are working on, but there's a huge collaboration effort between all the studios and it's been like that since the beginning, which I think is a big plus. It hasn't been "oh shit we need help let's bring in Criterion," but rather "let's work with Criterion from the beginning"
