– The official name is 'Battlefield VI';
– The single-player campaign is providing more freedom to the players such as open and wider areas;
– EA is seeking Battle Pass for the game in at least eight seasons;
– As you might guess, the BFVI will be released for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and PC;
– Campaign set in a fictional worldwide conflict in the future;
– EA Dice, Criterion Games, EA Frostbite is upgrading the engine for destruction system and an all-new geometry system;
– Under the development by the codename of Rogue (if I correct), starts close programming beta in Q1 2025 while the game is targeting Q4 2025 for the launch;
– The new engine is also bringing realistic physics and gunplay to the sixth main installment.

Hope that everything they talked about will come true and be on or above the level of BF3 and BF4. Always liked the single players. And multiplayer was also very entertaining. Still have some good memories from those days playing with friends.

As for the rumoured battle royale? Firestorm had potential. Too bad it was behind a paywall with no support. Good to get some new players to join the mp also.

If you go back to 2042 now, it's actually patch up pretty good. Still, I would rather go back to a more BF3 or 4 style of game.

Right, I was excited for Firestorm when it came out. Unfortunately it missed the bar.

Honestly I am still not a fan of 2042, it's just too shallow for being a BF game of being the 'bare minimum'.

Even a BF4 style game would suprise me, because like that was heavily vehicle focused (with larger maps for 64p, yet it worked there because the grand irony that you had vehicles engaging other vehicles a lot of the game Vs 2042 where the vehicle didn't go up because of engine/Series S RAM limitations), Commander mode etc. Are we even going to get stuff like that?

It's funny though because like before CoD took a lot from Firestorm BR like loot, tiers for the guns etc. And it's happened before with Treyarch games having a theatre mode because David Vondenharr worked on BF2 (which had a theathre mode in it, but then dissapeared after 2142). Or gun progression (again started in BF2) or the general move to a more modern setting (BF1942/Vietnam > Modern BF2, sounds familiar doesn't it?).
