I figure since Halloween is just around the corner why not right 
Also Silent Hill 2 remake just got released & over the last several years there seems this "Horror Videogame Renaissance" with so many to play, indie or otherwise.
Maybe it's not necessarily in the horror genre but other games' areas, jumpscares atmosphere, etc. that terrifies the living **** outta you
Off top of my head top 3 goes something like:
1. SILENT HILL 1 - Absolutely haunting & spooky all rolled into one. That first level where you get cornered in an alleyway & shadow babies stab you to pieces was next level **** my kid self couldn't. That school part too. **** that place. And that static radio literally ****s up your psyche like never before (P.S. SH1 > SH2
).
2. ELDELN RING (DEEPROOT DEPTHS & REVENANTS) - I never wanna return to this underground deathpit because of giant blood ants. Literally made my bones chill. Oh & **** revenants too. Forever.
3. DAYS GONE - Hordes still get to me even after a couple of playthroughs (second go was just to unlock Syphon Filter weapon... Wow miss that game too). I'm specifically afraid when hordes walk pass by me unknowingly when I do scavenging randomly, like I see them by the river drinking or taking a bath, suddenly they're right behind me ready to swarm the **** of Starkiller Deacon's biker *** & so all of a sudden hell breaks loose.
