Bethesda lead designer says Starfield is "hardest thing Bethesda has ever done" and the best game they ever made

"I think in a lot of ways, Starfield is the hardest thing Bethesda has ever done," Pagliarulo said. "We pushed ourselves to make something totally different. To just jam into an Xbox the biggest, richest space simulation RPG anyone could imagine. That we pulled it off makes Starfield something of a technical marvel. It's also, in a lot of ways, the best game we've ever made. But for us, most importantly, Starfield has its own unique personality, and now sits right next to Fallout and Elder Scrolls."

In the long run, I think they will benefit from having a more diverse player base because there are people who love starfield that never understood people's love obsession with Skyrim and Fallout. And when it ultimately comes to PS, I think the "hate" will soften. But that transition is painful (and loud) because your existing fans feel cheated or let down. Sony is experiencing some of the same right now with the heavy multi-player focus. In their case, the change in direction (or broadening of the funnel) was even sharper than BGS's starfield.

Never played The Elder Scrolls or Fallout but Starfield is amazing. Definitely their best for me. lol

Completed Shattered Space last night (8.5/10) and really enjoyed it. Now, im thinking of replaying the entire game from scratch using Creations because I found a bunch that I want to use and tested them out a few hours ago. I'm definitely someone that loves Starfield and am looking forward to the next expansion. 😂
