A friend has been out of gaming since the PS2 Era. What games do you tell them to play first?

This was me for the current gen. I had not played almost any game since the Ps2/xbox 360 gen. What games do you tell a “new” gamer to go and play and in what order? Do you tell them to start with games released 2017/2018 or do you tell them to start with games released in 2024? What guidance would you give your lost friend who has been found again?
 
My advice would be to subscribe to PS+ (or GamePass on the other side) and play a lot of ps4 Sony exclusives. Days Gone, as much of it sounds crazy, was amazing because of the horde of zombies/undead on the screen at one time.
