According to a new report, Microsoft is banking that Call of Duty will help to increase its game pass subscription numbers.

That's stupid, what's the logic in that? You're going to subscribe to the most expensive tier or Xbox Game Pass for just one game......? It's cheaper just to buy the game outright unless you're only planning to play for a month or two, then, yeah, its only $30 or whatever instead of $70. But, Microsoft is NOW paying for the development of Call of Duty so how do they afford to sell one game at such a steep loss?? They're clearly starting to hurt financially or they wouldn't be treating consumers so poorly. It is worth noting Call of Duty is now under the control of Microsoft so they dictate how it's developed and following what happened to Halo after Bungie left...... It's probably NOT the Call of Duty you remember
 
I dont play CoD but doesnt it need some form of Xbox Live to play it online (out with the free version)? So at a minimum you need Game Pass Core which is (in the US $10p/m). So for $10 per month more for Game Pass Ultimate (yearly cost of $120) youd be getting full access to the new CoD and what ever else they release on it.
