Former EA Developers Form The Three Thousands Studio in Australia

Three former EA developers have formed a new development studio in Australia called The Three Thousands studio. The studio is helmed by Joseph Donoghue, Benjamin Dawe, and Nikhil Kurian.

“Our goal with The Three Thousands is to become the ultimate digital automotive brand blending racing, culture, and entertainment in a way no one has done before,” Donoghue said along with the announcement. “We’ve assembled a core team that are truly best in class at what they do to help deliver the vision and we couldn’t be happier with the results.”

Donogue, The Three Thousands CEO, was formerly EA Australia’s general manager. Dawe was creative director at EA Melbourne, and is now CCO at the new studio. Lastly, Kurian is the studio’s CPO after being the racing general manager at EA Melbourne.

“With government incentives making Australia an attractive, cost-effective location, we’re positioned to build world-class products on efficient budgets,” Kurian said via release. “We’re excited to develop new games that harness these advantages and push the boundaries of world-class innovation.”

The Three Thousands is actively working on its first game, a racing title with a planned release for 2025. Details on the game will be announced in the coming months. They are also working on what they call a system “that connects racing enthusiasts and gamers through interactive entertainment.”
