Fntastic just refuses to give up. After announcing a comeback in September and launching a Kickstarter for a new game called Escape Factory, Fntastic is back with yet another announcement. This time it’s to tell everyone that funding attempts for Escape Factory failed and it would no longer move forward with its development.
But don’t worry, Fntastic isn’t going away that easy.
In the same statement claiming that interest in Escape Factory wasn’t there, Fntastic announced the development of yet another game: Items. Items is, supposedly, an “action-horror prop hunt game” that it says people “have been waiting for”.
Unlike with Escape Factory, there is no trailer or demo currently available for Items. However, the studio claims that once there is a “fully playable demo” they may start yet another Kickstarter for funding.
“It’s important to us that our players get the chance to play and test the game in advance,” they said in the statement.
Lastly, Fntastic said that it will be launching new mobile games as well in order to fund the development of Items. None of those games were announced as well.
After Fntastic first announced its comeback attempt in September, it was quickly discovered that Escape Factory was an asset flip game. The studio, however, denied those claims.
