February PlayStation Plus Extra and Premium Games Leak Includes Horizon Forbidden West

The February game additions to the PlayStation Plus Extra and Premium subscription tiers have leaked online, and it looks like a bumper crop of titles.

According to Twitter user billbil_kun—who has accurately reported on upcoming titles multiple months in the past—February’s update to the service will include four new titles to the Extra and Premium subscription tiers. The additions are:

  • Horizon Forbidden West
  • Scarlet Nexus
  • Resident Evil 7: Biohazard
  • Borderlands 3

The new games are expected to join the PS4 and PS5 subscription service on February 21st. All titles are listed as PS4 and PS5 releases. These aren’t the only games on the way, either. According to billbil_kun there is “more to come”.

With the games set to join the service just one day ahead of the launch of the PS5’s PS VR2 headset, it’s easy to imagine that some VR titles could also make their way into the upper tiers of PS Plus subscriptions.

If the leak is accurate, the highlight of the new games is Horizon Forbidden West. The anticipated follow-up to Horizon Zero Dawn released in February last year and follows Aloy as she travels to the west coast of North America in search of answers. It’s easily one of the best-looking games on PS5, but also runs impressively well on the last-generation PS4 as well.

Resident Evil 7: Biohazard is currently available to all PS5 owners as part of the PS Plus Collection. But with that service set to close later this year, its addition to the Extra and Premium subscription tiers will keep it available to players.

Bandai Namco’s action-RPG Scarlet Nexus released to critical acclaim in 2021, while Borderlands 3 dropped its dose of gun-loot two years earlier in 2019.
