Fallout 4 Next Gen Update Coming April 25

The Fallout 4 Next Gen update is finally set to release on April 25.

Bethesda made the announcement Thursday morning, the day after the show based on the series was released on Amazon Prime Video.

The free update includes a number of improvements and additions for players of the game on PlayStation 5 (PS5) and Xbox Series X|S. It also sees various stability updates and quest fixes to the game for PlayStation 4 (PS4), Xbox One, and PC players.

First, for PS5 and Xbox Series X|S players, the update adds Performance Mode and Quality Mode settings that will allow players to play the game at 60 frames per second at various resolutions.

For PC players, Fallout 4 adds widescreen and ultra-widescreen support. The game is also now Steam Deck verified.

In addition to the performance and quality updates to the game, Bethesda is adding a number of free Creation Club items for players.

Fallout 4 next gen update enclave

First it’s the Enclave Remnants.

“Enclave Remnants brings the Pre-War cabal, The Enclave, into the Fallout 4 storyline,” Bethesda says. “In this new quest, “Echoes of the Past,” can you stop The Enclave from spreading their dangerous ideology and gaining a foothold in the Commonwealth?”

On top of workshop items and the Enclave Colonel uniform, the following items are being added to the Creation Club:

  • Enclave Weapon Skins
  • Enclave Armor Skins
  • Tesla Cannon
  • Hellfire Power Armor
  • X-02 Power Armor
  • Heavy Incinerator

Aside from the Enclave pack, Bethesda is also adding a “makeshift weapon pack”.

“Ever thought a piggy bank would make a great weapon in a pinch?” the studio said. “This weapon pack includes a variety of unconventional objects that have been transformed into deadly weapons, such as: a baseball launcher, a nail gun and a piggy bank.”

Lastly, the Halloween workshop pack adds 38 new Halloween decorations to the game for your settlement.
