The Esports World Cup Foundation has announced the deployment of a mobile-based application that’s designed to ‘boost engagement’ among fans. The app is available now on Android and iOS – which seems a little late in the day considering the Esports World Cup is more than halfway completed.
Better Late Than Never
In a statement, the Esports World Cup Foundation’s Thamer Alshuaibi said:
The EWC mobile app was created to enhance the experience and engagement of esports enthusiasts worldwide. The key objectives behind the app’s development include a centralized information hub, improved accessibility, enhanced fan engagement, expanded reach and visibility, and monetization opportunities.
With the application in hand, you’ll be able to access schedules, reports, statistics, and streams in a matter of seconds, which makes it a relatively practical app if you’re trying to stay connected to the goings-on at the Esports World Cup.
It’s assumedly something that will remain active once the tournament has been settled, too, with VOD content and clips being made available to watch and news being drip-fed into the app over time in the run-up to the inevitable second hosting of the Esports World Cup.
We recently spoke to the CEO of the Esports World Cup Foundation, and he backed up the annual schedule for the event.
It goes beyond the gaming, too – the Esports World Cup app allows users to connect with sponsors, which likely means they’ll be able to take advantage of exclusive deals and offers through the application. The Esports World Cup has a staggering array of sponsors, so there should be plenty to leaf through.
