ESL Announces ESL One Bangkok Dota 2 Tournament Series

Dota 2, the popular esports title, will officially come to Bangkok later this year. ESL officially announced earlier today ESL One Bangkok will take place this December, ending 2024 esports with a bang.

ESL One Bangkok Happening This December

The popular tournament series will take place in Bangkok this winter during these dates:

  • December 9, 2024
  • December 10, 2024
  • December 11, 2024
  • December 12, 2024
  • December 13, 2024
  • December 14, 2024
  • December 15, 2024
ESL One Bangkok

The event will take place in Bangkok, Thailand, and will be a continuation of the ESL Pro Tour, pitting 12 of the top Dota 2 esports teams against each other for a massive $1,000,000 prize pool.

Not only is this ESL FACEIT’s first event in Thailand, but it is also the largest Dota 2 tournament to ever be held in the country.

Thailand has been a host to various other large esports tournaments, such as Capcom and Valorant events.

Prize Pool Breakdown

Here is an official breakdown of the tournament’s prize pool:

  • 1st – $300,000
  • 2nd – $175,000
  • 3rd – $120,000
  • 4th – $85,000
  • 5th & 6th – $57,500
  • 7th & 8th – $47,500
  • 9th & 10th – $30,000
  • 11th & 12th – $25,000

Format

ESL One Bangkok hangs on to the traditional Dota 2 tournament format with a pair of round-robin groups and then an eight-team playoff event. There will be a Group Stage event beginning on December 9, with every team facing off against each other before the official tournament begins.

With The International 2024 just around the corner, 2024 is looking to close out with some of the most intense and entertaining Dota 2 action in esports history.
