EA Sports College Football 25 is set to release on July 19 for Xbox Series X|S and PlayStation 5, and EA Sports took Friday to announce all of the game’s features after revealing its cover on Thursday.
As previously known, the game will include modes you expect like Dynasty, Road to Glory, Ultimate Team, and a Road to the College Football Playoff. But now we have more details on what each mode will offer players when they load up the first college football game in 11 years.
Dynasty Mode will see you “create a coach and build a powerhouse college football program from the ground up. Establish your coaching staff, recruit the best talent, utilize the transfer portal, and watch your program ascend to the sport’s pantheon.”
Moving on to Road to Glory, players will “live the life of a student-athlete”. With a created players, you’ll have to manage your schedule, GPA, and overall image as you work to become a Heisman Trophy winner. You’ll work to built coach trust to get extra playing time or even transfer if you aren’t getting the time you feel you deserve.
Ultimate Team is exactly what you’d expect from an EA Sports title. Collect players to build the best team you can and play with it either online or offline, completing challenges to earn rewards.
Lastly, the Road to the College Football Playoff lets you “experience a new way to play competitively and represent your favorite team in the Road to the College Football Playoff.” You’ll take your team against tougher opponents in order to move up the poll and make it to the playoff.
Authentic College Football Atmospheres
As part of College Football 25, EA Sports is bringing in “iconic atmospheres” that fans have seen for years across the sport.
“With traditional team run-outs, rivalry rituals, synchronized crowd-chants, loudness meters as well as real game-day audio, fight songs and, of course, mascots, it’ll feel like home everywhere you look,” EA Sports says.
Presentation wise, Chris Fowler and Kirk Herbstreit call the action of the biggest games. Rece Davis, David Pollack, and Jesse Palmer will be the team for other games.
The CampusIQ Gameplay
In the game EA Sports introduces its CampusIQ gameplay system. This system, the company says, will offer “true college gameplay” no matter the teams on the field.
“Powered by a wide range of player ratings that fluctuate throughout a game, team tiers, and new in-game passing mechanics, EA SPORTS™ College Football 25 delivers strategic, fast-paced gameplay reflecting the true depth of college football,” they said.
The game also features a “wear & tear system” that has you managing a player’s health and doing what you can to limit potential injuries and fatigue. There’s also a homefield advantage system that will have players facing “various levels of distractions like screen shaking, missing pre-play icons, and moving play art.”
College Football 25 is available to pre-order today.
