Dragon’s Dogma 2 features various races, including Humans, Elves, and cat-like beings known as Beastren, that honestly give me the creeps. But the Elves provide so much mystery and lore to the world. They speak a unique language, and if you don’t, or if someone in your party doesn’t understand Elvish, you’re out of luck communicating with their forest-dwelling beings. But where can you find Elves in Dragon’s Dogma 2?
Where to Find Elves in Dragon’s Dogma 2
I first encountered an Elf in Dragon’s Dogma 2 while wandering through the Malachite Forest to the north of Vernwood. I stumbled upon a battle with a single warrior fighting against a small horde of Saurians. The mystery individual was outnumbered and in desperate need of help, and as I approached, a side quest popped up asking me to slay the monsters.
As someone who doesn’t like Saurians, I happily jumped into the fray, holding my sword high and swinging wildly.
After defeating four of five Saurians, I found the Elf waiting for me on the stone steps of a forgotten ruin. So, I walked up to receive my quest reward, and, lo and behold, he didn’t speak a lick of English. I couldn’t understand the runic language sprawled across my screen, but I understood just fine when he handed over a bit of Gold to reward my efforts.
But that’s what I love most about Dragon’s Dogma 2. It’s an immersive experience with varying individuals and cultures, some of which prove immensely foreign and mysterious, creating a truly living world.

How to Speak Elvish in Dragon’s Dogma 2
Elvish in Dragon’s Dogma 2 is both astounding and unknown to many. You’ll find that when speaking to Elves in the game, it’s nothing more than runes in the dialogue box, and you can’t decipher any of them.
Instead, you must have a Pawn with you that understands Elvish. It’s pretty rare, but some of your companions can speak, read, and write in the Elvish tongue, making interacting with these beings somewhat more manageable through a translator.
