If you are playing Dragon Ball Sparking Zero right now, you must wonder how the branching storylines work in Episode Battles. Episode Battles is a new story mode that allows players to relive iconic moments from the anime and experience some never-before-seen scenarios. This Dragon Ball Sparking Zero Episode Battles will help you better understand all the branching paths for Goku Black.
The Episode Battles are split into two types: paths and alternate endings. Completing these extra branches allows players to gain additional Zeni, XP, items and more. Moreover, specific paths also contain original cutscenes for these never-before-seen scenarios, called Sparking! Episodes. This guide will highlight all branching paths and alternate endings for Goku Black’s Episode Battles in Dragon Ball Sparking Zero and explain how to unlock them.

Proof of Justice
Goku Black has one of the shortest sagas in Dragon Ball Sparking Zero’s Episode Battles. However, he has a few alternate endings and a path to explore. ‘Proof of Justice’ is a path that can be unlocked during the ‘Act Three Begins’ mission. In this mission, you must defeat Goku and Vegeta before the match ends to unlock the new path. If you don’t manage to do so, then you are returned to the original path.
If you do manage to do so, a new cutscene will play. In this scenario, Trunks tries to trap Zamasu with the Evil Containment Wave, but Goku Black intervenes and stops them. Goku, Vegeta and Trunks escape from the situation, and that’s when a new conversation occurs. Zamasu asks Black Goku to fuse with him as he feels the mortals have planned something. However, Black feels they are stronger as two and might be more vulnerable if they become one. Zamasu agrees.

During their conversation, Vegito springs onto the scene, which makes Black Goku and Zamasu realize that the mortals have used the secret plan before them. Now, you have to fight Vegito and Trunks, and there are two ways you can end this path.
The first ending is called The Universe Gains a New Legend, and to unlock it, you will need to Fuse during battle. To fuse, players need to press the up arrow on the D-Pad to open the Transformation window, then press R1/RB or L1/LB to move to the Fusion window and tap the designated button. The second ending is called Proof of Justice, and it can be unlocked by winning the match without fusing.

The Universe Gains a New Legend
This Sparking Zero Episode Battles ending for Goku Black is also available through another path. During the ‘The Ultimate Fusion’ mission, if players can defeat all enemies before the match ends, a new mission, ‘Responsibility as a God,’ will be unlocked.
Players can get two endings, ‘The Universe Gains a New Legend’ and ‘Universe Illuminating God’ through the ‘Responsibility as a God’ mission. The first ending can be unlocked if you defeat all players without transforming into Half-Corrupted Fused Zamasu. The second ending is unlocked if you transform into Half-Corrupted Fused Zamasu during the battle. The transformation isn’t in your hands; it is time-based, so defeat the enemies quickly to beat the mission without transforming and vice versa for the other.

Universe Illuminating God
This Sparking Zero Episode Battles ending for Goku Black can be unlocked through the path mentioned above and another mission. In the last mission, ‘Sins, Gods and Punishment’, if you defeat all enemies, you receive the ‘Universe Illuminating God’ ending, as you have already transformed into Half-Corrupted Fused Zamasu. To get the canon ending for Black Goku, you must get hit by Trunks’s Ultimate, Final Hope Slash during the ‘Sins, Gods and Punishment’ mission.
All alternate endings for Goku Black in Sparking Zero’s Episode Battles lead to the same result. They destroy the Saiyans, and with no one to stand up to them, Zamasu and Black carry out the Zero Mortal Plan. No one knows what happens after, as no mortal lived to tell the tale.
