Defending can be tricking in Dragon Ball Sparking Zero, as you are always vulnerable to a barrage of explosions, Ki blasts, punches and kicks. When you find yourself in these dire situations, there are 4 Defense mechanics that you can use in Dragon Ball: Sparking Zero, Guarding, Recovery, Counters and Evasion.

How to Guard
Using Guards is the most basic form of Defense in Dragon Ball Sparking Zero. You must press R1/RB while inputting an Up or Down direction to perform a High or Low Guard. Players should know that guarding for too long can also be detrimental, as a Guard Break will put you in a vulnerable position.
Recovery
Recovery is a quick way to get back into action in the game. There are two ways to recover: Ground/Wall recovery, executed by pressing down before hitting a wall or ground, and Dragon Dash recovery, which lets you take the fight back to your opponent directly. It can be performed by pressing up before hitting the ground or wall.

How to Perform Counters in Dragon Ball Sparking Zero
Counters is the new Defense system in Dragon Ball Sparking Zero, and it can be divided into four parts: Super Perception, Z-Counters, Revenge Counter, and Super Counters.
Super Perception can be performed by holding O/B before getting hit by an opponent’s attack. However, its cost will vary from Ki to Skill count depending on the counterattack. Super Perception will allow players to perform Sonic Sway, which is almost an MUI Goku way to dodge attacks when faced with a Rush Attack.
Z-counters must be performed before an opponent hits the player with a Vanishing Assault; you must press R1/RB to execute the move. The Z-Counter continues until one of the players mistimes the input. Also, the damage inflicted will increase depending on how long the Z-Counters the encounter was.
Revenge Counters are the best way to get out of a sticky situation. However, they do cost a Skill Count. The Revenge Counter can counter any attack, whether melee or blast attack and can also be used while you are being attacked. It is one of the strongest defense moves in Dragon Ball Sparking Zero and can be performed by pressing the R3/R stick.
Super Counter is another move players can use for most attacks, and it can be used when being attacked, too. However, timing is critical. To perform this move, press up along with Square/X and send your opponent flying away.

Evasion
The last defense system for Dragon Ball Sparking Zero is Evasion, and players can evade in two ways; High-Speed Evasion and Step-in Sway. High-Speed Evasion is performed by pressing R1/RB right before specific attacks to evade them and create an opening for a counter. Step-in Sway allows you to evade an attack by pressing X/A and R1/RB.

This game has so many bandwagons right now all these shills want in and all of a sudden after mocking and attacking the anime community and arena fighters they do this! Go mind your business let the real fans enjoy this! I hate these fakes people like Maximilian Dood and his weird boomer friends go play old man Marvel. Also they better not try to ruin the sequel to Jump Force I’m still waiting on that where is that game?!?!?! Even If it’s a ArcSys game they better stay out.
The what if story’s on this game are bad not as good as Raging Blast 1 and 2 or what we got with Bardock in Burst Limit and Shin Budokai and Another Road knocked this out of the park. Also the cinematic are so cheap the previous games had actual cinematics I swear Bandai Namco is cheating out and the menu design is weak too go look at the original Tenkaichi games main menus and the charm of it. They should just remake those games. Black Gohan is a stupid idea the same way Super was. Honestly I’d love Shin Budokai and Another Road’s story remade with actual cutscenes and voice acting. Bandai wasted too much money on their other garbage titles like Unknown 9, the Smazon project, and Tekken 8.
