Dragon Ball Sparking Zero is out now in early access and is the successor to the iconic Budokai Tenkaichi series. One of the main focuses of the new game is the online PvP game mode, where players test out their mettle in a true anime fashion. However, many players have wondered whether Dragon Ball Sparking Zero has cross-play, and we will answer this question today.
Dragon Ball Sparking Zero Cross-Play Details
When entering a game like Bandai Namco’s latest 3D arena fighter, players naturally want to try their skills against all types of opponents worldwide, whether from PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, or PC. However, this won’t be possible in Dragon Ball Sparking Zero as the game’s producer has confirmed that cross-play will not be available at launch. Moreover, the developers have not confirmed whether the feature will be added.

In an interview with IGN, game producer Jun Furutani stated that cross-play is a “touchy subject” and not easy to explain. He added, “The short professional answer is, yeah, there’s a difficulty that we have to go through to get cross-play to work.” Regarding whether the developers would add the feature in the future, Furutani said they “don’t know yet”.
Without cross-play, you can still explore all the game’s multiplayer features, but your competition is limited to your platform.
