The Dragon Ball Budokai Tenkaichi series of games is known for its epic clashes, resolved with snappy quick-time events. That is why many players wonder whether the successor, Dragon Ball Sparking Zero, will also have Quick-Time Events. The answer to that question is yes. Dragon Ball Sparking Zero will have dynamic quick-time events; check out this guide to learn how they work.
Quick-time events in Dragon Ball Sparking Zero will be activated during clashes between the opponent and you. These could be melee clashes or beam clashes, which have been classified into four impacts: speed impact, power impact, crash impact, and blast impact.
Dragon Ball Sparking Zero Quick-Time Events
Speed Impact
Starting with the Speed Impact, players can enter this dynamic, quick-time event when both fighters are trading blows. To enter Speed Impact, players must clash with their opponents using a Dragon Dash (R2/RT + X/A) or when a rush-type blast collides with a Dragon Dash.
There are two phases to this Impact in Dragon Ball Sparking Zero: Single Strike and Rapid Strike. The winner of Single Strike decides which opponent wins the quick-time event, and the number of inputs performed during Rapid Strike determines the amount of damage inflicted on the enemy.
Power Impact
Power Impact in Dragon Ball Sparking Zero is another dynamic, quick-time event players can enter when they perform a Throw simultaneously with their opponent. The Impact event will have players holding down several buttons directly proportionate to the strength the character will use in this encounter. Players that get closest to the tip in this Impact event will win the encounter.

Crash Impact
Dragon Ball Sparking Zero’s Crash Impact takes place when both players use the new movement mechanic, Step, at the same time. When they enter this Impact event, players will be assigned the roles of attacker or defender, and they again need to use a series of inputs to win. If the attacker wins this battle, the defending player will take damage. However, if the defender wins the exchange, they will protect themselves.
Blast Impact
Last but not least is the most iconic quick-time event in Dragon Ball Sparking Zero, also known as beam clashes. A Blast Impact is activated when both players simultaneously use two ranged Blast attacks at each other. Players must use single button presses while rapidly tapping other buttons to win this encounter. The winner of this exchange deals tremendous damage to opponents.
