It’s about time we received a brand-new Civilization game! As someone who spent countless hours stuck in the “one more turn” gameplay loop of past titles, I cannot wait to get my hands on the seventh mainline entry. Do we know the Civilization 7 release date?
When Does Civilization 7 Release?
Unfortunately, we don’t have a concrete release date for Civilization 7. We know there’s more to come sometime this year, likely a full gameplay reveal and release date, however. For now, we know the upcoming turn-based strategy game will launch sometime in Q4 FY 2025, which means sometime before March 31, 2025.
Furthermore, during the show, it was revealed that it will launch simultaneously on PC and consoles, which is definitely exciting!
I don’t know about you but I’ll wind up playing on PC. It’s where I’m most comfortable playing a strategy title like the next Civilization game!

Who Can You Play as in Civilization 7?
While we don’t have an official list of leaders for Civilization 7, we suspect you’ll have a chance to play as fan favorites such as:
- Genghis Khan
- Washington
- Caesar
- Gandhi
- Alexander
