During the PlayStation State of Play showcase, Supermassive Games revealed the release date for another star-studded horror title, this one named Directive 8020.
The all-new story trailer for Directive 8020 showcased a mind-bending, horrific game set in space, and something is out there. The band of heroes (read: those fighting for their lives) occupying a colony ship in deep space find themselves hunted down by something that’s replicating them and leaving them for dead.
Replication in Space
Like other games in ‘The Dark Pictures Anthology’, Directive 8020 features multiple playable protagonists, all of whom can succumb if the player makes a wrong choice or a late decision.
The story of Directive 8020 is centred around a ship travelling deep into space – 12 light years away from Earth. On board the ship is a skilled crew that finds itself stranded after the vessel crash lands, bringing them out of cryogenic hypersleep earlier than intended.

It has been claimed that Directive 8020 features more survival horror mechanics than previous games, with players needing to solve puzzles and use tools to distract the vicious enemies hunting them down.
Per the new trailer, the game stars Lashana Lynch as Brianna Young, one of the ship’s pilots.
