Destiny Mobile Game ‘Destiny Rising’ Announcement May Arrive Soon

Reliable insider Jeff Grubb recently revealed on Threads that an announcement for the Destiny mobile game, ‘Destiny Rising’ could come “soon”.

Yesterday, a known gaming news source, Kurakasis, stated that Destiny Rising is “an unannounced Destiny mobile game” developed by Bungie. Jeff Grubb added to the news, saying that this information is indeed “real” and that “not many people from Bungie” are working on it. Grubb said that the game might receive an announcement soon.

In the comment section, Grubb was also asked whether he knew what type of game Destiny Rising would be. He replied, “It’s going to be Destiny on mobile but with a lot of changes”. Grubb provided an example, stating that the developers will include “hero characters” instead of allowing players to build their own characters.

Bungie announced large-scale layoffs and restructuring in July 2024, letting go more than 200 employees. During that time, information about ‘Payback‘ popped up. Payback was supposed to be a completely different style of game set in a Destiny universe but was cancelled a few months ago to allow Bungie to work on more “imminent games.” It seems that this Destiny mobile game was one of the titles that survived the restructuring.

In other news, Phil Spencer recently admitted that he regrets passing on games like Destiny and Guitar Hero. Also, the court has denied the cheat seller’s appeal over the $4.3 million win to Bungie. What are your thoughts on the Destiny Mobile game? Let us know in the comments.
