Team Jade has revealed that Delta Force Mobile, the handheld variant of the popular first-person shooter that was just released, has been delayed to Summer 2025. In a post on social media, the team revealed that this is because is ‘top-tier experience’ that players deserve isn’t ready yet and needs further optimisation.
On December 5, the open beta for Delta Force was released on PC and the iOS and Android versions of the game were set to be released this month.
‘A Very Ambitious Project’
On social media, Team Jade wrote:
No matter how you slice it, Delta Force is – and will continue to be – a very ambitious project. This leads us to some news regarding the release of our game on mobile systems. After carefully reviewing our production pipeline, we’ve decided that the current rlease sschedule for the mobile version won’t allow us to deliver the top-tier experience your deserve.
The mobile version will now launch in Summer 2025.
The game is already running very well on mobile systems, but we want to take the extra time to ensure it runs smoothly across a wide range of devices.
The team then promised that 2025 is going to be a big year for the wider community. There is a ‘wealth’ of planned content, which includes five new Operators, seven new maps (at least), and other weapons, vehicles, and ‘cool features’. The early impressions of Delta Force were that it looked purely like a microtransaction-laden mobile game, but that hasn’t been revealed as the case.
Delta Force is a good shooter, and that’s all there is to it. I once joked that Delta Force is the best Battlefield game I’ve played in years, simply because it feels so familiar with the wide, open maps, class system, vehicles, modes, and even the UI. Perhaps it’s infringing a bit on EA’s legendary FPS franchise, but it’s not like anything good is happening in the Battlefield world at the moment.
