Delta Force: Hawk Ops Has Undergone a Name Change

Delta Force: Hawk Ops is in the midst of a popular alpha test period that’s pulling in thousands of players. It’s a solid enough shooter with some real Battlefield vibes, and it’s enough that players are considering it a legitimate competitor to EA’s war-focused FPS series.

Recently, developers suggested that they might change the name of Delta Force: Hawk Ops following community feedback on how the name sounded ‘silly’ or that it didn’t make much sense. Now, the team has made that change, altering the name of Hawk Ops.

Plain and Simple

Delta Force: Hawk Ops is now just Delta Force.

In a statement published by the team, it was said:

We want to this the Delta Force game – a title that bridges the gap between loyal veterans of this franchise and newcomers joining the fray. It’s about uniting the community and creating an experience that honors the legacy of Delta Force while pushing the boundaries for the future.

The name was revealed today in a new gameplay trailer that was released during Gamescom’s Opening Night Live showcase. For now, Delta Force remains in development, but even the alpha product is remarkably well-polished. It’s shaping up nicely and the finished product will have an extraction shooter, full-scale battle modes, and small-form multiplayer mechanics.

It’s also getting a promising and authentic campaign mode, part of which is based around the real-world events of ‘Black Hawk Down’ that took place in Mogadishu, Somalia in 1993.

Do you think this name change is a win? Let us know in the comments.

  • Yes, the name change is appreciated. In a world where AI is controlling everything, understanding and being able to use proper grammer should be of the up-most importance. Haha 🥰🥰

  • Should think about remaking all the delta force games and make them compatible for pc and console. I would love to play all of them on Xbox.

  • Yes! Definitely a BIG WIN with thw name change. You could still use thw HAWK OPS name as a future DLC to Delta Force. That’s the way it should be actually. Nice job on the Alpha though. You guys/gals have your $#it together! Keep it up. We look forward to seeing what you bring down thw pipeline!

  • Dude I hope they remaster all of the old games. Delta Force 2 was a GREAT game.

Also I always thought “Hawk Ops” was a Stupid subtitle. Eagle Ops would have been OKAY. Delta Force is *chefs kiss* as far as branding goes.
