Death Stranding both confused and amazed gamers worldwide when it was released exclusively on PlayStation 4 in 2019. It puts players in control of Sam Bridges, a delivery specialist in a bizarre, post-apocalyptic world haunted by ethereal, otherworldly beings. It’s enough to say it comes from the stunning mind of Hideo Kojima – that tells you all you need to know about the ambition and innovation of the story.
When it was released, many joked that Death Stranding was little more than a spooky walking sim, or more accurately, a delivery boy simulator. Well, thanks to a new mod that hit Nexus yesterday, you can finally play Death Stranding without many of the game’s threats, delivering your piles of packages without being plagued by BTs.
Remove The Threat, Remove The Point
Death Stranding is nothing short of bizarre. The player uses a baby in a chamber that can sense BTs (‘Beached Things’) and other threats to avoid impending doom, and ‘Timefall’ regularly scours the land, causing things to age dramatically fast, eradicating the player’s constructs and eroding their cargo.
In this new mod that was released yesterday on Nexus – ‘Live Stranding’ – players can manipulate the game and remove almost every trace of Timefall and the BTs that come along with it. This means that gamers are left to explore a vast open world relatively undisturbed by enemy forces or troublesome weather. It removes much of the point of the game, but it’s great if you are looking for a delivery boy simulator.
Sadly, the mod that’s hosted on Nexus Mods isn’t a cakewalk when it comes to installation. There are a few things you’ll need to do as prerequisites to installing the mod itself, and as it’s brand new, it’s bound to be buggy.
