Dead Cells Gets Final Update From Evil Empire

After seven years and 35 updates, Dead Cells has received its final update from developer Evil Empire.

“Welp, this is it – the last update we made for Dead Cells (and its last update ever) is out now,” Evil Empire said via social media.

Dubbed “The End is Near” this update includes updates to the popular Curse mechanic with three new mobs, three new weapons, and three new mutations. There’s also a a new biome effect for players to choose.

Also included in the update are new legendary affixes, over 40 new heads for customization, new routing, and more accessibility options. You can check out the full notes in the update via Steam.

“To the players – Thank you for everything,” Evil Empire said. “Thank you for all of your dedication, passion, and feedback. Dead Cells wouldn’t be what it is today without all of you.”

Despite this being the final update for the game, Dead Cells will continue on in various ways, per the studio itself.
