When the Nintendo Switch 2 was fully revealed on April 2, one of the bigger third-party game announcements came when CD Projekt Red confirmed that Cyberpunk 2077 would be launching on the console. Now, just a day later, there are more details on what Switch 2 players can expect from the game on the new system.
According to the studio’s vice president of business development Jan Rosner, Cyberpunk 2077: Ultimate Edition will cost $70 when it releases on June 5. What’s more is that, should you buy the physical version of the game, it will come full on the Switch 2 cartridge.
“The game will be distributed on a 64GB game card (containing the game and expansion, no download required), as well as via digital download from Nintendo eShop for Nintendo Switch 2,” Rosner said.
The news of the game being included on the physical card comes after Nintendo revealed that not all physical copies of games for the system will actually include the games themselves. Instead, they will be treated as licensing keys that allow you to download and play the game on your console.

With the game being on the Switch 2, many have wondered how the game’s performance would be. Bloomberg’s Jason Schreier, who spent time with the game on the system, gave a bit of insight on that front.
In a post on social media, Schreier says that Cyberpunk 2077 ran at 40fps while in performance mode when the system was docked. He didn’t mention how the game runs in handheld.
Insider Gaming has reached out to CD Projekt Red for more details on the game’s performance on the console. Should a response be received, it will be added to this article.

Crash you console. How does anyone like this game or support CDPR after the fraud of this game they should be gone. I assume this is why Ubisoft thinks they’ll be fine the European laws are so corrupt for businesses.
What a ridiculous take, a very bugged but extremely good story was released. The bugs were fixed, features were added. The game is astounding.
This is kinda interesting… 40 fps is better than 30. I got games that hit 40 fps on my old(ish) pc with nothing but an intel hd4600 integrated graphics card and it does make the experience a lot better, case in point I own a game on xbox one called Easy Red 2 and it stutters and barely hits 30 fps and I own the same game on the aforementioned pc and it hits an average 40 fps and it’s a night and day difference. I’m glad Nintendo is exploring this middle ground and cyberpunk 2077 is a great game for those who invest in a switch 2.
