Corsair Is Buying Sim Racing Peripheral Company Fanatec

After months of talks, Corsair is finally set to acquire sim racing peripheral company Fanatec. The announcement comes after it was announced back in May that Corsair was set to fund the company in the short term while they negotiated a deal.

“We have long admired the Fanatec brand and are excited to bring these incredible products to an even wider audience,” Corsair CEO Andy Paul said via press release. “We are fully committed to further develop and expand Fanatec’s product lines, improving customer service, and embracing the needs of the Sim Racing community. Racing enthusiasts can look forward to an even more intense and realistic Sim Racing experience.“

Financial details on the acquisition were not revealed.

As part of the purchase, Corsair says it will make “significant investments” in the brand. The Fanatec name is expected to remain, similar to when Corsair purchased other established companies like Elgato, Origin PC, and SCUF Gaming.

The purchase of Fanatec also includes all employees at former owner Endor AG who worked on the Fanatec product. Headquarters of Fanatec will remain in Landshut, Germany.

“Corsair shares Fanatec’s passion for innovation, quality, and continuous development,” Endor AG CEO Andres Ruff said. “Corsair will open up new opportunities for Fanatec to further extend its portfolio and work even more closely with the growing Sim Racing community.”
