CD Projekt Red Announces Surprise Cyberpunk 2077 Update

A new update is coming for Cyberpunk 2077. Developer CD Projekt Red announced on Monday its plans to hold a stream on Tuesday, December 10 to announce its plans for Cyberpunk 2077 Update 2.2.

December 10 just so happens to be the fourth anniversary of the game’s launch.

“Join us for a new episode of REDstreams, where we’ll dive deep into the new features Coming Soon TM for Cyberpunk 2077 in Update 2.2,” the game’s official social media accounts posted.

“The team still has some gas in the tank,” CD Projekt Red Global Community Director Marcin Momot added.

Nothing is really known about what exactly is in the update. A couple of the things not part of the update, however, are PS5 Pro Enhancements or New Game+.

Recently, it was confirmed that The Witcher 4 aka Project Polaris has entered full production. The next game in the franchise currently has 400 people, or 61% of the company, working on it. In addition to The Witcher 4, the studio has 64 developers currently working on the sequel to Cyberpunk 2077, currently known as Project Orion.

Lastly, in the most recent earnings report, it was announced that the game has sold over 30 million copies in four years. The game’s Phantom Liberty expansion sold 8 million copies.

Insider Gaming will have full details on all of the new features coming to Cyberpunk 2077 when they are announced on Tuesday.
