Following a reveal of Call of Duty’s first campaign mission during the Gamescom Opening Night Live showcase, it was announced that Call of Duty NEXT is scheduled for October 5th. It’s the pinnacle of Call of Duty showcases, and it’s at this event that we’ll see our first look at Modern Warfare III’s multiplayer, as well as learn more about Call of Duty Mobile and Call of Duty Warzone.
It was on September 15th, 2022 that the last COD NEXT event took place, and it played host to 150 content creators all in one room playing Warzone 2.0. It was also the event that revealed countless elements of Modern Warfare II and Call of Duty Warzone Mobile – and it was where the future of the Call of Duty esports scene was outlined.
Who Knows What’ll Happen This Year?
Call of Duty NEXT is a no-holds-barred fanfest for the legendary first-person shooter franchise, and this year, it’s where we’ll get our first look at Modern Warfare III’s multiplayer.
Beyond that, we can’t say for sure what’s going to be shown. It’s possible we’ll get more information about Warzone Mobile, the next iteration of Warzone itself, or – who knows – maybe something on Call of Duty 2024.
It could also be where we find out about the future of the Call of Duty League, which is COD’s topmost esports competition that features iconic brands such as FaZe and OpTic Gaming.
Geoff Keighley revealed that Call of Duty NEXT will take place on October 5th, 2023, but that was essentially it on the topic – no more information at present.
