BLAST.tv Austin CS2 Major Invites Revealed After Latest Valve Ranking

The latest monthly Valve Regional Standings update has arrived, determining which Counter-Strike 2 teams receive an invite to the upcoming BLAST.tv Austin CS2 Major. The rankings released today determine which teams will receive direct invites to either Stage 3 or Stage 2, and which teams will compete in the Major Regional Qualifiers to determine who competes in Stage 1.

After months of work, the teams that have guaranteed a spot in the Major already can also guarantees themselves a cut of the lucrative sticker money.

All CS2 Teams Invited to the BLAST.tv Austin Major

16 teams have been invited directly to the BLAST.tv Austin Major, via earning a high enough placement in their respective regional standings. Eight teams will start in Stage 3, meaning they skip the first two Swiss system stages, and eight will start in Stage 2, meaning they only skip the first Swiss stage.

Here are the teams that have been invited, and the region they are representing.

  • Team Vitality (Europe)
  • Team Spirit (Europe)
  • Natus Vincere (Europe)
  • MOUZ (Europe)
  • Aurora (Europe)
  • G2 Esports (Europe)
  • Team Liquid (Americas)
  • The MongolZ (Asia-Pacific)

Stage 2

  • Falcons (Europe)
  • FaZe (Europe)
  • 3DMAX (Europe)
  • Virtus.pro (Europe)
  • paiN Gaming (Americas)
  • FURIA (Americas)
  • MIBR (Americas)
  • M80 (Americas)

Major Regional Qualifiers (MRQ)

The Major Regional Qualifiers are six qualifier tournaments that will determine the 16 teams that will qualify for Stage 1 of the Major.

Here is the distribution of teams that will qualify for Stage 1 via the MRQs, and the teams that will compete in each region’s MRQ.

  • Six teams from Europe:
    • Astralis, SAW, HEROIC, 500, OG, BetBoom, PARIVISION, ENCE, GamerLegion, BC.Game, BIG, B8, Nemiga, Fnatic, 9 Pandas, Metizport
  • Three from South America:
    • Imperial, Legacy, ODDIK, RED Canids, Fluxo, Sharks, BESTIA, Solid
  • Three from North America:
    • Complexity, NRG, Getting Info, Nouns, Wildcard, BLUEJAYS, Marsborne, MIGHT
  • Two from China:
    • Rare Atom, Lynn Vision, TYLOO, DogEvil
  • One from Oceania:
    • SemperFi, ex-Talon, FlyQuest, Rooster
  • One from Asia:
    • The Huns, ATOX, Chinggis Warriors, Eruptions

It’s worth noting that this list of teams receiving BLAST Austin CS2 Major invites are based solely on the rankings released today, and that the official invites are subject to change. The Major Regional Qualifiers will begin in less than two weeks, running from April 14th to 17th.
