Everything You Need to Know About Black Ops 6 Ranked Play

Black Ops 6 is getting Ranked Play from November 14, and this year, Treyarch and Raven Software have put something together that’s a little more complex than in recent years. With that being said, I’m here to bring you a full end-to-end breakdown of the Black Ops 6 Ranked Play ecosystem, just to give you the upper hand ahead of time.

Black Ops 6 Ranked Play Preparation

As in previous years, Black Ops 6’s Ranked Play game modes will be Hardpoint, Control, and Search and Destroy. That’ll be the competitive format for the CDL 2025 season, too.

How to Access Ranked Play in Black Ops 6

To gain access to Ranked Play, you must have won a whopping 50 matches in multiplayer. Not just played – you need to have won the matches. Assuming you win every second match, that means you’ll need to play 100 games before you can get into Ranked Play. However, it has been confirmed that existing match wins will count towards your entry requirement.

Ranks in Black Ops 6

Black Ops 6 will use the same ranking system present in past games:

  • Bronze
  • Silver
  • Gold
  • Platinum
  • Diamond
  • Crimson
  • Iridescent
  • Top 250

New Features in Black Ops 6 Ranked Play

Activision’s teams have added a series of new features to Black Ops 6’s Ranked Play ecosystem.

Map and Mode Veto

Before every match, three map and mode combinations will be shown to players, and teams can veto one of them – independently. That means that only one result will be pushed through to play, giving players the best opportunity to play what they want.

Forfeit

If anything goes wrong or you find yourselves struggling right off the bat, your team can issue a forfeit and vote to end the match. It’ll count as a straight loss against your record, but that’s where it ends. You’ll need to reach a minimum point in a match before you can issue a forfeit request.

Black Ops 6 Ranked Play Skins

As always, a series of skins will be made unlockable by players hitting certain tiers in Black Ops 6 Ranked Play. From the bog standard skin to ‘Champion’, each skin is unlocked after hitting a certain tier.

Restricted Weapons, Attachments, and Perks in Ranked Play

Activision’s teams haven’t confirmed the restricted attachments, perks, equipment, or weapons in Black Ops 6’s Ranked Play mode.
