Activision’s teams have revealed that Black Ops 6 will be free to play this weekend – both multiplayer and Zombies. This is a special, limited-time event designed to usher in Season 02, which was rolled out just days ago. The Black Ops 6 free trial will run between February 6 – 10 and it’ll feature a range of maps and modes.
If you’ve not pulled the trigger on Black Ops 6, this could be the perfect tasting session for you to get an idea of what you can expect from the game.
What’s in the Black Ops 6 Free Play Weekend?
Between February 6 – 10, you can play Black Ops 6 for free. This promotion features ten multiplayer maps – including the two new maps added this season (Bounty and Dealership) and six core modes:
- Team Deathmatch
- Hardpoint
- Domination
- Kill Confirmed
- Kill Order
- Gunfight
Additionally, players can access the all-important playlists: 24/7 Nuketown and 24/7 Stakeout.
You’ll also be able to access Overdrive, a high-octane mode introduced in Season 02 that demands players to complete challenges to earn stars while taking down enemies. The more challenges they complete, the more abilities they’ll unlock, buffing them immeasurably against their opponents.
Players accessing the Black Ops 6 free play weekend will also be invited to try out the new Zombies map – The Tomb. Liberty Falls, one of the best COD Zombies maps to emerge in years, will also be playable for free.
Black Ops 6 was one of the biggest launches in Call of Duty history when it dropped in 2024. It helped that it was released on the Game Pass platform, of course. Things have soured slightly since release, especially across the game’s Ranked Play ecosystem, but it’s still a top-tier game that’s worth a free trial, at least.
