Black Myth: Wukong Now Has Goku Mods

Black Myth: Wukong players can now play Game Science’s latest action RPG as Dragon Ball Z’s Goku, courtesy of mods.

At the moment, there are two Goku mods available over at NexusMods. Both mods replace the initial outfit of Black Myth Wukong and do not add any gameplay features or other elements to the title. The first is Son Goku, which adds an anime-accurate character to the game. The second one is called Jump Force Goku, and this adds Goku’s damaged character model from Jump Force to the game.

How do you install Goku Mods for Black Myth Wukong?

You must follow these steps to install Goku mods for Black Myth: Wukong. However, this is an experimental mod that only works with the first outfit of the game and could be bugged with other outfits. So remember to change to Tiger Hide Loincloth, Cotton Wristwraps and Cotton Legwraps.

  • First, open Steam, right-click on Black Myth: Wukong and then head to ‘Properties’.
  • Here, you must type “-fileopenlog” in the Launch Options field. This will now allow you to install mods for the game.
  • Then head to Nexus Mods, decide which Goku mod you wish to use, and download it.
  • Once downloaded, head to Steam again, right-click on Black Myth: Wukong, click the ‘Manage’ button, and select ‘Browse Local Files’.
  • After that, use an unarchiving tool to unzip the mod files, then drag and drop the B1 folder into the game files.
  • That’s all. Now you can play Goku in Black Myth: Wukong.

For those who don’t know, Black Myth: Wukong’s story is based on one of the Four Great Classical Novels of Chinese literature, Journey to the West. Interestingly, the late Akira Toriyama, creator of Dragon Ball Z, was also inspired by this novel during the inception of the manga, which is why Goku shares so many similarities with Sun Wukong.

In other news, Black Myth: Wukong’s Xbox release is seemingly ‘indefinitely delayed‘ due to a ‘memory leak’ bug. Also, the game is reportedly boosting PlayStation 5 sales in China. What are your thoughts on the Goku mods for Black Myth Wukong? Let us know in the comments.
