Black Myth: Wukong isn’t Delayed Due to Xbox Platform Limitations, Microsoft Confirms

A Microsoft representative has confirmed through a new statement that Black Myth: Wukong’s “delay is not due to Xbox Platform limitations.

According to a Forbes report, the Microsoft representative stated that the team is “excited about the launch of Black Myth: Wukong on the Xbox Series X/S and are working with Game Science” to release the game on their platforms. The representative added that they would “prefer not to comment on deals” made by their partners with other platform holders. However, they can confirm that the “delay is not due to the Xbox platform limitations”.

Microsoft issued a statement in response to concerns surrounding the game’s delay, which was attributed to a memory leak issue on Xbox consoles. Black Myth: Wukong was seemingly ‘indefinitely delayed’ as the developers are optimising it for the consoles. Subsequently, it was claimed that the delay on Xbox stemmed from an exclusivity agreement with PlayStation.

The new report also speculates that Game Science and PlayStation could have a non-traditional exclusivity deal for Black Myth: Wukong; however, neither entity has confirmed this officially. At the moment, there is no release date for Black Myth: Wukong on Xbox Series X/S consoles.
